Call for Proposals for Special Sessions

Objectives

The Organizing Committee of APSIPA ASC 2026 cordially invites proposals for Special Sessions (SS). These sessions aim to provide a focused forum for participants to discuss emerging topics or innovative applications that complement the regular program. We encourage potential organizers to submit their proposals relevant to the theme and areas of APSIPA ASC 2026.

Guidelines

Your proposal should include:

  1. Title of the proposed Special Session
  2. Session abstract: A description (max 2,000 characters) explaining the motivation, timeliness, and the specific contribution to the field.
  3. Organizers: Name, affiliation, email, biography, and relevant teaching experience.
  4. List of Committed Papers: Each proposal should include:
    • (i) At least 5 tentative papers;
    • (ii) A recruitment plan to reach the target of 10 papers per SS.
    • Session Structure: The intended 90-minute session structure is: 60 minutes oral "pitches" (up to 10 papers, each with 5 min talk + 1 min Q&A) followed by 30 minutes poster presentations for the same papers. If the final number is below the target after submission/review, the Organizing Committee may merge closely related sessions (or take other standard program-shaping measures) so that the final program fits the intended structure.
    • For each listed paper, please provide:
    • Tentative title
    • Corresponding authors (name, affiliation, email, biography)
    • Co-authors (name, affiliation, email)
    • Tentative abstract

Evaluation criteria

Quality & Impact

Innovation of the proposed topic, along with the expected technical quality and collective impact of the contributed papers.

Organizer & Author Profile

The professional background and diversity of the session organizers and contributing authors.

Technical Committee (TC) Alignment

Proposals should address emerging topics that may not fully align with a single TC. However, proposers must identify the TC(s) closely related to their topic for better coordination.

Final Acceptance

Selection of a proposal does not guarantee final session acceptance. Each paper must pass a rigorous peer-review process similar to regular submissions. Only sessions with high-quality accepted papers will be scheduled as lecture sessions in the technical program.

Notes about author policy

To ensure diversity, no author should appear in more than one paper within the same session, except for an introductory/overview paper by the organizers.
