Message from the President of APSIPA

On behalf of the Asia Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (APSIPA) and the Organizing Committee, we are honored to welcome you to the 18th APSIPA Annual Summit and Conference (APSIPA ASC 2026). This prestigious event will be held at the beautiful Courtyard by Marriott Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 9–12, 2026.

APSIPA ASC has come a long way since its inaugural edition in 2009 in Sapporo, Japan. Over the years, the conference has been hosted across the Asia Pacific, the global hub for research and development in signal and information processing, establishing itself as a truly international forum for researchers and practitioners. In parallel, APSIPA as an organization has grown into a vibrant community of researchers, educators, and practitioners dedicated to advancing the field of signal and information processing. It now offers an extensive array of activities for its members, including Distinguished Lecturer programs, seasonal schools, technical committees, and local chapter events, all of which foster collaboration and innovation worldwide.

This year, we are excited to feature a robust program designed to enrich the conference experience. Highlights include insights from our distinguished Keynote Speakers—Prof. Vesa Välimäki, Prof. Baoquan Chen, and Prof. Dacheng Tao—who will share their expertise on topics ranging from audio signal processing to computer graphics and deep model fusion in the AI age. In addition, the conference will host an engaging array of Special Sessions, Grand Challenges, Tutorials, Winter Schools, and Perspective Panels. We are also introducing a new Late Breaking Reports track featuring short paper poster presentations, designed to foster dynamic knowledge exchange, networking, and community building. Collectively, these diverse activities provide unique opportunities to engage with industry leaders and academic experts from across the Asia-Pacific region, inspiring meaningful interactions and advancing the frontiers of our field.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who has contributed to making this event possible. In particular, we acknowledge our local organizers, led by Professor Kosin Chamnongthai; the ECTI Association; our technical co-sponsors IEEE and the IEEE Signal Processing Society; and the College of Computing, Prince of Songkla University, as well as our generous industry sponsors, supporting organizations, and exhibitors. Their invaluable contributions have been instrumental in ensuring the success of APSIPA ASC 2026, and we are honored to have them as partners in this endeavor.

Finally, we warmly welcome all participants to APSIPA ASC 2026 and to Bangkok. We encourage you to take full advantage of the rich technical program, engaging discussions, and networking opportunities throughout the conference. We hope you also experience the renowned Thai hospitality during your stay. Thank you for joining us to celebrate innovation, collaboration, and the future of signal and information processing at this summit. We look forward to an inspiring and memorable conference together. See you all at APSIPA ASC 2026!

Message from the General Co-Chairs

The APSIPA-ASC (Asia Pacific Signal & Information Processing – Annual Summit Conference), focused on signal and information processing and organized in Asia-Pacific countries, warmly welcomes researchers from around the world to exchange advanced research results and expand their networks of friends. The conference was launched in 2009 in Sapporo, Japan, and the 18th APSIPA-ASC is being organized this year in Bangkok, Thailand, at the Courtyard by Marriott Suvarnabhumi Bangkok Airport Hotel, near Suvarnabhumi Airport, for the 1st time in Bangkok and 2nd time in Thailand. This is a great honor for Thailand and Thais to host the APSIPA-ASC again.

Before the 18th APSIPA-ASC on Nov 10th–12th, participants would enjoy the Winter School at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang, located near the venue on Nov 9th (Mon), 2026, and the welcome reception is moved back to the conference venue in the evening, where all participants may see old friends and make new friends.

The APSIPA-ASC 2026 is formally opened by Prof. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), on Nov 10th (Tue), followed by tutorials, keynote speeches, and technical sessions. It is a great honor for the organizing committee to welcome the well-known keynote speakers, Prof. Dacheng Tao (Nanyang Technological University), Prof. Baoquan Chen (Peking University), and Prof. Vesa Välimäki (Aalto University). Their speeches are addressed on Nov 10th, 11th, and 12th, respectively.

In addition to the knowledgeable keynote speeches and technical sessions, APSIPA presents the Sadaoki Furui Best Paper Awards and the K.J. Ray Liu Mid-Career Award to outstanding authors and contributors, allowing participants to enjoy the award ceremony at the opening ceremony. Awardees would present their papers and contributions on Nov 11th and 12th, respectively, before the keynote speeches.

As another highlight of the conference, the organizing committee is proud to host a banquet dinner for all participants on Nov 11th evening under the theme of the Loy Krathong Festival, as Thai locals celebrate the festival by floating baskets in rivers and making wishes in November every year. The conference would conclude with the Founders’ Forum & APSIPA AGM & Closing Ceremony after the last technical sessions in the afternoon on Nov 12, 2026.

On behalf of the organizing committee, we really appreciate the hard work of the authors, reviewers, and the team who worked behind the scenes. The conference’s success would be impossible without their great contributions. Hopefully, all participants will enjoy all events and their stay in Bangkok.
