APSIPA 2026 Travel Grant Information

APSIPA 2026 offers two competitive travel grants to help students with limited financial resources attend the conference: the APSIPA HQ Travel Grant and the APSIPA ASC 2026 Local Travel Grant. Both are intended to support the exchange of scientific ideas and to encourage student engagement in signal and information processing research. An applicant may apply for only one of the two grants.

Eligibility

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a graduate or undergraduate student.
  • Have at least one paper accepted for presentation at APSIPA 2026.
  • Register for the conference—as a student or with full registration—and attend in person to present the paper.
  • Demonstrate that they cannot obtain adequate funding from their institution or other sources and would otherwise need to cover most costs personally.
  • Provide proof of conference registration when submitting for reimbursement.

Geographic eligibility differs by grant:

  • APSIPA HQ Travel Grant—open to applicants who reside in, or are enrolled at a university in, an ASEAN country (excluding Singapore), Bangladesh, or India.
  • APSIPA ASC 2026 Local Travel Grant—open to applicants who reside in, or are enrolled at a university in, Thailand.
How to Apply

Submit applications through an online form, selecting either the “APSIPA HQ Travel Grant” or the “APSIPA ASC 2026 Local Travel Grant” based on eligibility. Combine the following into a single PDF file:

  1. A statement covering the purpose of the trip, an estimated travel cost, the applicant’s financial need, and confirmation that no other funding has been secured.
  2. A one-page resume that also specifies degree level, country of birth, and country of current residence.
  3. A recommendation letter from the applicant’s advisor confirming that the applicant is in good academic standing, describing the relevance of APSIPA to the applicant’s research, and outlining the expected benefits of attending.
  4. The accepted paper’s number and title.

Applications that do not meet these requirements will not be reviewed.

Selection Process

The Travel Grant committee will evaluate applications based on eligibility, financial necessity, and paper quality; all committee decisions are final. Recipients must register for, attend, and present at the conference before receiving payment, which is issued as reimbursement afterward. Selected applicants will receive additional instructions directly.
